Great Room Sofas

Friday, the great room sofas were delivered and I had a “Whew” moment because I wasn’t sure how they were going to look because of the fabrics I chose, which I posted about here. This is the great room...

Here are the sofas.

This is a pic of the sofas together. One of the reason I chose these frames is because of the curved shape of the backs. I have them pushed back because I still need to get a coffee table.

I love this peacock fabric... my husband, not so much. On the other side of the peacock pillows I have a brown embossed silk to tone things down when my husband has had enough of the birds.

Some of the other pillows.

This is the distressed leather that is on the back rest and inside the arms.

Close up of the nail head trim that goes around the sofas and up the arms...

Side view (not a very good pic), sgowing the striae in the frame fabric...

Tassles....

Here's a better look at the finials.

Here is a close up of the printed damask seat cushion fabric. The seat cushions are reversible, the other sides have the brown straie fabric that is on the frame of the sofas.

All the pillows are reversible in that they have different fabrics on each side.  Here are some different looks.

With more leopard fabric showing (pic dark because it was taken at night)...

A mix of all of the fabrics, except the peacock fabric....

Woops, peacock on the left, upside down... I'm too lazy to take another pic.

I still need to get a coffee table and some other accent pieces to finish the room.  I also want to do something with the ceiling and am thinking of doing some window treatments, probably something hanging  from rods at ceiling height.

  7. Your sofas are beautiful. I love the peacock fabric and the different textures, colors and prints you're using for the pillows. I think damask is a very classy fabric. The pop of leopard is fun! What a gorgeous living room and how fun to be choosing new things for your space. You've got wonderful taste!

  10. Marvelous! Really Marvelous Lori!! I adore these sofas and that fabric combination is genius! OMG whatever will you pick for drapery fabric?? Will you stay neutral or somehow sneak in a little of the blue.....I agree, a nice chunky rod with panels and perhaps attached open swags on either side of the window would be fab!

  12. Interesting furnishings. Being able to place a couch that can sit whole families comfortably may double up as an impromptu area to have snacks when accompanied with coffee tables. Great post.

  15. Hi again - to answer your question, yes, I was totally serious that the world would be a better place if it had more tufted upholstery, bullion fringe, and nail head trim. I love them!!!

Are you decorating for Christmas? If so, I look forward to seeing your creative touches.

    Take care,
    Patricia

  16. Those are just luscious! Your room is turning out so grand. After you get it all together, I doubt your husband will even notice those peacocks.

  17. Lori oh my gosh they look beautiful! I'm not kidding. I honestly was thinking that maybe you had gone a little overboard with all those fabrics you mentioned in the previous post - but now that I see them all together - they absolutely look great. The curvy backs work in this space with all the different fabrics because you have such VOLUME in this space that needs to have some texture and curves and color variation in order to fill it up with coziness! If you need some help with the window treatment design - email me and I can simply email you some pictures for inspiration. I have a file full of treatments and I know I have some on windows like that. It would be no trouble at all for me to just send you pics so feel free okay?

Oh, I changed the name of my blog to New England Style - I was previously Michelle Jamieson Interiors and I wanted to make sure you knew it was still me!
